Archer Luben is an archaeologist who helped to design the Svalbard Global Seed Vault. He first appeared in The Falcon's Feather. In Book 7, it is revealed that he is an alias of Hezekiah Brume. The biggest clue is that, when shortened, his name is A. Luben. This spells Nebula backwards. He is also the father of Roewyn Brume.

In The Double Helix, Dr. Luben was the substitute teacher for Dr. Coronado's class while she went to Hawaii to help look for Cruz's father. At the end of the book, after Dr. Coronado returns, Dr. Luben and Dr. Coronado accompanied the explorers during the archaeological dig in Turkey. There, he told Cruz about an outcrop. When Cruz went to explore said outcrop, Luben pushed him into a hole. |
